Oh my gosh! We did a Trash to Treasure show today at Paper Stock Dealers/Sonoco, and there was the most fabulous jewelry designer there with her wares! Her name is Karen Dickey; her Web site is
http://www.kjoia.com/. Karen takes vintage beads, combines them with new ones and creates spectacular one-of-a-kind fashion statements that are both unusual and elegant. I fell in

love with a certain necklace, and my wonderful friend and colleague, Jane, surprised me with it for Christmas! She gave it to me just as we were heading out for the night. Check it out: picture me wearing it (oooh, I look scary after a long day of work) and the one from her Web site! Also be sure to visit her Web site - GREAT stuff, and it's recycled! I will enjoy thinking about the women who might've worn some of the beads before me! I feel so special and shall probably sleep in this necklace tonight!
Going over the river and through the woods to Gramma's house tomorrow. Sister and I are going to help her finish Christmas shopping and wrap her gifts. Little known fact: Sister once worked a season as a gift wrapper at Tapp's, and she can wrap darn near anything! Saturday is the big family Christmas shindig. (This will certainly yield an entertaining post - there are some real characters in my extended family! Be sure to check back on Sunday...)
