I have a holiday hangover! I've taken two extra days off to try to get rid of it, but I'm not doing too well. I have all these plans to do constructive things around the house, but then one of the animals will lure me to take a nap! I did go on a massive grocery-buying trip this morning and moved some boxes downstairs before I succumbed to a catnap with Duchess and Pikachu, though, so the end of the hangover is in sight! Hopefully, when I return to work tomorrow, things will return to pre-holiday normal - whatever THAT is.
Despite the fact that I don't want to hear any more Christmas carols, see any more Christmas specials or eat any more Christmas food, I did get some good post-Christmas deals at Wal-Mart today. Cat stockings and holiday paper products, half off. I stopped there, though, and resisted the temptation to go anywhere else.
Tomorrow, I will be on WIS-TV Sunrise to do an interview about Grinding of the Greens. I have to be at the studio at 6 a.m. for a 6:15 a.m. interview, which means I have to be up, uh, WAY TOO EARLY! If you're up at that ungodly hour, be sure to watch! And if you need to know how to recycle your live Christmas tree and don't make it up (and don't already know), let me know...
Today, Sister and I restarted Phase One of the South Beach Diet. What that means is for one or two weeks, we'll give up sugar and carbs, which will make me grumpy! It's not that hard to give them up, but it makes for a more difficult day - planning, cooking, brown-bagging it. After the first of the year, we'll get to add back good carbs and dark chocolate - YAHOO! I won't speak for Beth, but I put on a few lbs. over the holidays and need to get back to eating better - Phase One is kind of a purifying stage, if you will. So Starbucks folks, no more lattes for a few days - it's decaf coffee for me!
Hope everyone had a great Ho-Ho and is doing better than me getting back into the swing of things!
