A Devine Day

Sister and I had such a fun day! It stared out rough - we both woke up with bad headaches that stuck with us most of the day - but we worked through them.

First we went to Starbucks, where our friend, Tom - the executive chef at Garibaldi's - brought his precocious daughter, Gabrielle. We had a ball hearing her tell us about their chocolate lab/"basket" hound mix, Molly, who is expecting puppies soon. Before the morning was over, she and Tom went home and brought Molly to Starbucks. PRECIOUS pup - she looked like a chocolate lab with short legs.

Afterwards, we went over to Stein Mart, and found some great stuff. Beth was looking for a bracelet and some sheets, and we found both quickly. She also found a great gift for our friend. Kayren, who is in town for a visit this weekend.

But the big hit of the day was the Devine Street Sidewalk Sale. It was a cool morning - for August anyway - and we had a blast shopping. The biggest find was at Pout, a cool cosmetics store. I hit the motherlode of lipsticks - my weakness - on sale, big time! I got T. LeClerc, Tarte and Sue Devitt lipsticks for $3 or less each. Siser also got some Sue Devitt mascara for $3 that is usually a lot more expensive. And checking the Web sites with the colors we bought, they are all current. (I should've bought extra and sold them on eBay.)

We also got some fun deals at Handpicked. (Check out the Handpicked Web site with the tri-color jewelry on the front page. It's true that everything comes back. I remember when I worked in a jewelry store in college - in the mid-1980's - and the tri-color stuff was all the rage. FUNNY!)

Tomorrow, we'll be spending the day with Kayren, who's in town on her way to Charleston.

A shout out to Ashley, who was fitted for her wedding dress today! Ashley, sorry we missed it - especially since our previous morning plans changed - but I know it was fabu. We expect to see pictures!
