Day Six: Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jog

We started the morning early, with a trip to Starbucks.

We stopped by Tamarack, a giant stop featuring items made in West Virginia.

These flowers were made by a West Virginia artist and were for sale in all sizes, from desktop to this size.

LOVED this trash can inside of Tamarack. It wasn't for sale, though.

We made plenty of stops at "scenic overlooks." The leaves were just starting to turn, and they were beautiful.

This was Sister early in the trip. You can see, she was already road weary.

We saw these signs by the side of the road all the way up and back. My rebellious side couldn't help stopping and standing by them. When we finished the photos, we saw a big dead snake by the sign and thought maybe we should've obeyed the sign!

Me at the North Carolina Welcome Center. I was so glad to be back in the Carolinas. But soon we hit trouble - we couldn't find gas anywhere! We finally stopped outside of Rock Hill and waited in a very long line. We didn't snap any pictures, but it was like being back in the 1970s gas lines.

And that was the last picture we took! We had a great time, but we're also glad to be home.

A few follow up photos...

Sister got these cool 3-D letters for my birthday! They are made from old steel cans. I couldn't wait to get them up in my office.

The dogs, VERY HAPPY to be home. It was their longest stay at Mom and Dad's house, and after a week of "tough love" from Mom and Gramma, Winston came back a different dog! Calmer and even sweeter. Thanks, Mom and Gramma. And Dad, too. (He's just not as tough on them as the ladies!)

Winston's birthday is the same day as mine, and I got him Fiesta bowls for his feeder.
