Still Rolling My Eyes Over This One
There was a doofus at Starbucks this a.m. wearing a McCain/Palin shirt - wait, it gets worse - and a pink button with a GOP elephant on it that read "It's a Girl," referring to Sarah Palin. Egad. Does anyone else find that condescending? I mean, would he have worn an "It's a Boy" button if McCain had picked Mitt Romney or any other male? I think not. And he had his daughter with him, too. I still get irritated thinking about it. On the flip side, I saw Obama stickers all over town today. And no McCain/Palin, except for that fool at Starbucks.

You're right - he wouldn't have been wearing an "It's a Boy" button if the VP choice were male, and you wouldn't have seen delegates at the convention wearing buttons that said, "Hottest Governor". The Republicans consistently cry sexism, yet she winks at audiences and wears leg baring outfits to interviews and meetings at the UN. You can't insist on equal treatment when you're using femininity and sexuality as your weapons of choice.
I saw a McCain sticker in a shop window in Paris this past weekend.
You can't insist on equal treatment when you're using race as your weapons of choice either.
