Pre-Debate Blog
Anyone watching the GOP debate? Answer these tomorrow if you watch tonight...
If you HAD to go out with one of them, who would you chose and why? Duncan Hunter; he was the most handsome. mp
Funniest? When McCain said he would follow Bin Laden to the gates of Hell. mp
Worst dye job? TOMMY THOMPSON! mp
Best hair? Gotta be Mitt Romney. But gotta give Rudy props for getting rid of the comb over. mp
Who are you LEAST likely to vote for and why? Ron Paul, he believes what he reads on the Internet. mp
Who surprised you the most? When Tommy Thompson said employers should be able to fire gay people. Isn't that against the law? Also, when one of the candidates (can't remember who) said he supported stem cell research. mp
What question would YOU have asked? I would've asked Tommy Thompson if that is a toupee or just bad hair! On a serious note, maybe something about the safety of food products coming in from overseas. mp
Who would be the best contestant on American Idol? John McCain. HE could sing his version of "Bomb Iran." mp
Who would be most fun to have a beer with? Probably one of the crazy ones, like Ron Paul, especially since he believes what he reads on the Internet. mp
Who would be easiest for editorial cartoonists to draw? Mitt Romney and his hair! mp

I'm still waiting for Fred Thompson. Had never heard of most of these guys. If Gilmore said "I have been the Gov. of Va." one more time I would have hit him. Mom
Well, I'm glad I'm not gay, then. It certainly seems like it should be a law. I can't be fired just because I'm a woman, can I? OR can you fire a black person just for being black? And heaven forbid you try to fire someone who is PREGNANT for being pregnant.
I still think Tommy Thompson is an idiot, if nothing else than based on his HAIR.
But it seems to me when he was in the Bush Admin he tried to pawn off one of the anthrax poisonings as a natural occurance that happened on a camping trip. And he lost all credibility after that.
It should not be a law. Gayness is not a characteriztic that should be given preferential treatment like ethnicity and religious beliefs. Moreover, a vast majority of the country believes that it is a sin on a similar level with forgery or theft. And until we become a monarchy, the views of the majority on this point mean something. You might not thing it should mean EVERYTHING, but it means something. If you don't like it, you are free to move to places that better represent your sensibilities like Berkely, Cambridge Mass., DC or Seattle. That's the beauty of the federalist system of government. Don't like the atmosphere where you are? Move. Want a gun if you live in DC? Move to Lexington SC. Want to enjoy protection in your job because you are a transvestite? Move to DC.
Morning Anonymous says: Freedom includes the freedom to run a business and hire who you want for whatever reason. The government has no business telling someone who they can and can't hire - especially regarding sexual preference. I'll err on the side of liberty every time. Don't like Cracker Barrell firing gays? Don't eat there. You have the liberty to do that, for now at least. But how would you like it if someone MADE you eat there because they won't hire gays? Its the same thing.
As far as moving to DC... No doubt you'd have so much more fun in a place like that and pretty regularly find whatever it is you are looking for. Plus, you'd never want for something to do. Sounds like a good idea. Plus, you can enjoy the fact gays can't be fired for being gay. That alone is worth the hassles of boxing all your belongings.

Unfortunately, I missed this ... but I might watch it now based on your comments!

Why is he even running?

"Afternoon Anonymous(AA)," I like your argument MUCH better than "Morning Anonymous (MA)."
Morning Anonymous, I think you just want me to move to DC.
